Biological determinations of cognitive disorders
Vítek, Petr ; Šivicová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Stehlík, Luděk (referee)
As a topic of my bachelor thesis I have chosen "Biological determinants of cognitive disorders". Because of the bachelor thesis' coverage I was forced to choose only two cognitive functions - memory and thinking. This work as a whole is an attempt to combine psychological theories with neurological and psychiatric knowledge which are now popular thanks to the rapid development of imaging techniques of brain. One chapter is specifically focused on their brief summary. In the beginning specific cognitive functions are circumscribed but only two of them are taken further - memory and thinking. More space is dedicated to memory because neurological research of memory is much more complex compared to thinking. My approach is similar in both cognitive functions - at first I focus on description of normal functioning and then I classify and describe specific disorders, trying to find their neurological correlations. The second part of my bachelor thesis proposes the research of episodic memory, in which I would compare differences in its distortions from both neurological and neuropsychological perspective. Patients with delusions, pseudologia fantastica and patients with often confabulations are the target group. I tried to create as realistic design as possible. However I realize its financial...

Zajícová, Markéta ; Kulišťák, Petr (advisor) ; Uhlář, Pavel (referee)
The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the temporal aspect of memory allocation, memory allocation according to the type of information and also in terms of processes. Another chapter is on memory impairment, retrograde and anterograde amnesia. The following section includes traumatic brain injuries, their division, mechanism of development and comatose condition measurement, which results in the pivotal division of brain injuries - mild, moderate and severe. The main point of this work is the cognitive rehabilitation, which should precede a neuropsychological examination. In case of memory, there are some specific tests (AVLT, ROCFT, BVMT-R). The thesis presents researches on the cognitive rehabilitation, information about the computer-assisted rehabilitation and books that deal with the topic. The thesis then briefly apprises of the possibilities of the pharmacotherapy, in the form of cognitives, psychostimulants and nootropics. The conclusion summarizes the psychological impact on the family and patient. The practical part is based on the research proposal of cognitive rehabilitation of memory, it is based on the latest research published in impacted journals and covers several approaches that are linked to the neuroplasticity or the cognitive training. Memory disorders in old age
KROUPOVÁ, Jitka
Memory changes or disorders are typical for old age. The ability to absorb new information, to store it in memory and the subsequent information processing decline in old age. The dividing line between memory impairment and dementia is very vague. Czech Alzheimer Society deals with people affected by dementia. The organisation was launched in June 2008 under a project called Days of memory, project of the early memory disorders detection promotion. The practical part of my thesis deals with the project Days of memory. The first goal of the practical part is to find the reasons why clients suffering from memory disorders seek help at the ČALS contact point {--} the Centre for the Elderly PATUP in ZSF JU. The second aim of the practical part is to compare experiences of the ČALS contact point workers who are involved in the Project of the early memory disorders detection promotion, "Days of Memory", in memory scanning. The data required for the practical part of the thesis were obtained by a combination of a qualitative and quantitative research.
